About

My drawing journey began as a way to process life and the curveball that had been thrown into my family. In 2010, my mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. I’d just graduated from Interior Design School in Austin, Texas, and the housing crash of 2008 was still crumbling what was left of the interior design community. With all of my steadfast plans suddenly dissolving in front of me, creating art became my lifeline.

Unsure of what to do next, I accepted a job in corporate America that wasn’t utilizing my creative skills. I felt like I was withering away inside, so I began drawing daily as a way to engage my creativity and process all the changes going on in life. In the beginning, my drawings were chaotic, reflecting what I was feeling inside as I was coming to terms with my mother no longer being my mom. Once she passed in 2017, I was forced into a new chapter of life. My art became more calm and symmetrical, as if the straight lines were grounding me as I began mapping out my next steps to take in life.

Since then, my art has evolved into a colorful journey that now incorporates elements of expressionism, cubism, and portraits. This shift in my work reflects a deeper exploration of form, emotion, and movement—an ongoing tribute to the memories of my mother and the vibrant world around me. Now based in Bozeman, Montana, my pup, Ranger, and I are enjoying the mountain life and the inspiration it brings to my creative process.

As I continue to see and experience different patterns and colors in nature, I weave them into my work. My art, much like my life, will always be evolving. Creativity remains a beautiful way for me to honor my mom’s life, her joy, and her relentless spirit. I’d love for you to join me on this artistic journey.
